Car blast kills two in Iran: media
TEHRAN: An explosion in a car killed two people and wounded eight in the western Iranian city of Ilam on Tuesday, state-owned Al-Alam television and a local news agency reported.
The cause of the blast was not immediately clear.
The news quoted a provincial Red Crescent official as saying that the car was not a gas-powered vehicle of the sort that has seen a number of accidental explosions in recent years.
"Moments ago a sedan blew up in Imam Square... killing two people and wounding eight," Fars quoted Red Crecent official Mohammad Baqer Mohammadi as saying.
"The cause of the explosion will be announced by security officials," he added.
